A Night of Opera
Yesterday was the second rehearsal on the stage for the MOT's production of "Macbeth" by Giuseppe Verdi. Shakespeare wrote the original play but Verdi turned into an opera. Before the Sitzprobe (a run through on the stage but when you're done, you sit down and watch until your next part), I had only seen a big piece of Act III, which is where Macbeth revisits the witches and 3 apparitions (one of which I will be splitting [this right role is double casted] between me and my friend Matteo. In other news, that very same night was the understudy run-through for "The Mikado" by Gilbert and Sullivan. I was kind of excited because I AM an understudy for Ko-Ko, the Lord High Executioner. I can't really say much about it except I think we (the understudies) all did very well. That run-through was the first time for some people. Overall, my night of opera was busy, but AWESOME!!
