Just Keep Swimming: A Finding Dory Movie Review

Yesterday, I saw "Finding Dory" and I must say it's better than "Finding Nemo". What a way to kick off Summer break! Dory goes on this quest of sorts to find her family. Her call to adventure is when she remembers something at the Sting Ray Migration. The movie goes on as Dory has flashbacks to when she was a kid with her parents and how she got separated from them. Along the way she meets her old pipe pal Destiny, a near-sighted Whale Shark, a mean Septopus named Hank, and a Baluga Whale named Bailey with a giant bump so he can't echolocate. Marlin and Nemo do this crazy thing with Sea Lions and a bird named Becky. That's all for now, but I'll write next time I write! Have a Good Summer! Cobracrane out!

BEST. DAY. EVER.

Today was a great day. I'll tell the worldwide web why the 2nd to last day of school is better than the last day. Today I went roller skating with my whole class! After that we went bowling. Me and my friends came up with Harry Potter characters for our class. I got Harry and ???? got Cho. After bowling, my dad drove me and my friends Mike M., Evan, and Quentin. I got to leave early (well, 10 minutes)! After school at karate, I got a new stripe on my yellow belt! That means I'm one step closer to Purple Belt. In all, I've had a great day and can't wait for school to get out tomorrow.

X-Men: Apocalypse Movie Review

I just saw X-men: Apocalypse and I must say despite the reviews it was amazing! The part I didn't like about it was at the end my dad, sister and I had to wait a long time for the thing that comes at the end of all Marvel movies. At some points, we didn't think there was going to be one.

The Weekend, In General

This was for the Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe.
This weekend was rather exciting because I got to go out of the country for the 2nd time ever! I went to Stratford, Canada to see "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe", which was turned into a musical but strangely, Lucy, Susan, Peter, and Edmund were all played by adults! On Saturday, May 21, I saw my first ever Shakespeare play (one I'll never forget): Macbeth! Of course, since it was really, I mean REALLY creepy, we only saw the first half. Today is my Grandma's birthday. She's probably reading this post right now so I'm going to congratulate her on that. So that's the end of THIS weekend roundup but there will be more.
This was on the front of the program for Macbeth.

Weekend Events #1 of Many

Well, it's Sunday and school is tomorrow morning and afternoon so I'd like to sum up what happened this weekend. On Saturday so awesome stuff happened. The first (in chronological order) was that I got my yellow belt in Karate. Second was that I saw Captain America: Civil War. It was amazing although it wasn't what you'd call a Civil War. I don't have spoilers on my movie reviews on this blog. Well, that's it for this weekend. I'm not posting until my next post (kind of ironic, isn't it?) so see ya!

WiFi (Not Wireless Fidelity)

I don't know why, but I started thinking of my band called WiFi (it stands for When In France, Interact). So I think, "Hey, Kevyn, why don't you post some lyric videos of the real songs that you've played with WiFi over the years?" and that gives me an idea to post some lyric videos of the real songs that I've played with WiFi over the years. Well, here are 4 of the 10 songs I've played with my friends Eddie, Jaeden (yes, that's how its spelled), Blake. and the other 3 of us. I can't remember the other 6 songs.

3 Test Day (Again)

Today was extremely stressful. Today was the 1st day that my dad would be at the house since the divorce, since they started switching off on Sunday. Not only that, I had a math test, science quiz, and a social studies test! The quiz was something we could've done tomorrow, but I wanted to do it today. I started playing "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask". It's a game where you have to get these masks to stop the Skull Kid and the evil Majora's Mask from crashing the moon into the town. It's a  fun game and was originally an N64 game before the newer remake for the 3DS.

Jeopardy!

Jeopardy is a game show where you answer trivia questions against other people. If you go on the Jeopardy website, there are some cool things you can do:
You can do something called J6 where you pick 6 catagories to answer a question from. There's also a thing you can do on the "Be a Contestant" bar where you can answer questions from 30 different catagories. The link to get Jeopardy's website is right here. If you like the show, Jeopardy.com is right for you.

Alternate Dimensional Tales 1: King George III

What if King George III wasn't stubborn? Right now I'm changing the universes to the alternate one... (This may take a while)tick tock tick tock tick tock. Okay, the universes have been altered. Now traveling to 1766... (Time Machine Noises)... Well, here we are in 1766, British throne room.

Oh my goodness! There he is! He looks so friendly! I'm gonna talk to him!

"Your majesty, I can't seem to notice the colonists aren't taking to kindly to the new law."
"Pardon me, but who, may I ask, are you?"
"I'm from the future and an alternate universe."
"Okay. I don't know what that means, but are you sure the colonists don't like the new law?"
"Positive."
"Then I'll repeal it." Well, there you have it! King George repealed the Quartering Act and pretty much prevented the entire revolutionary war. I'm switching the dimensions back as we speak. Alright, the dimensions are back! I'm now switching the time machine to get back to the present (2050). (Time Machine Noises) Here we are in the present! Let's see if things changed (this could take a while...googling the Quartering act)... Well it says here that since King George repealed this law, the colonists loved him for doing this. In fact, some of the colonists thought about revolting but this stopped it. It even says that the Boston Tea Party was an actual tea party! I think this was a job well done. Next time on ALTERNATE DIMENSIONAL TALES, we'll discuss what would happen if Napoleon changed!

River Rouge

Our annual River Rouge trip is coming up. We do these twice a year and I'm not a big fan of them. I'm not a big fan because
a. I don't see the point, and
b. I keep falling in the river. I am serious, there is no time we went to the River Rouge that I have not fallen into the cold water. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. No one else ever falls in to the river.

The Colossus Rises Book Review

Here I'm going to talk about a book that I read in third grade but just finished rereading called The Colossus Rises by Peter Lerangis. It's a fantasy book that tells the story of Jack McKinley and his friends Aly, Cass, and Marco. These 4 have a gene named G7W in them which makes them have basically superpowers. Marco has super-strength, Aly is a genius with old movies and hacking, and Cass is so smart, he can talk backwards! Anyway, I'm looking forward to keep reading this series called 7 Wonders. If you haven't read it, try.

The Mikado

Yesterday and Friday were very important moments in my life. Friday was the first time I ever performed in front of 2,700 people AND the first full house I ever performed in front of. Yesterday ended my 2015-2016 opera season (for me this was La Boheme by Giacomo Puccini, Macbeth by Giuseppe Verdi, and The Mikado by W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, more commonly known as Gilbert and Sullivan [Operas in chronological order]) with the MOTCC's production of The Mikado. Everyone in the MOTCC is great and I think we did our performance exceptionally well. If you want to audition, You're perfectly welcome to. It'll be nice to finally have someone from school in the chorus. By the way, our opera next year is "The Hobbit", based on the book by J.R.R. Tolkien. Good luck!

Limerick Poems

Here are some limerick poems I wrote just now:

Limerick #1

There once was a girl named Jane.
She loved to play in the rain.
Oh, but then one day,
The rain went away.
So Jane thought the day was plain.

Limerick #2

There once was a boy named Nick,
And he had a ball to kick.
But then it got lost.
It froze in the frost.
So now Nick plays with a stick.

150th Post!!!

Finally! Today is my 150th post on this blog! I forgot to do 100th post but I'm now doing every hundred posts. I was going to blog about tech week for The Mikado, then I was going to write a game review on Yokai Watch, but I looked at my posts and figured out that this is the 150th! Usually my Hundredth post posts will be short, so this one will be too!

Mornings (Again)

Mornings have always been difficult for me. But now they just keep on getting stranger. With all this summer warmth, I have to use the fan in my room to go to sleep without bursting into flames. But by the time I wake up, I'm freezing cold again. So here I am in my house covered by a warm blanket in the middle of spring. Confusing, right?

Mikado Costume Fitting

Today I had a costume fitting for the Mikado, and right now I want to watch "The Voice" so I'll keep this short. The Mikado has some really cool costumes. Our performance has Pokemon on the robes and stuff like that. They're really cool. I have a green shirt, red pants, and a robe with comic book things like POW! and BAM!

This video is the Mikado's song "I am so Proud"... which they cut :( !

Persuasive Essay Written in March

This is the essay I was tasked to write about anything I wanted to, so I chose protecting zoos from getting taken down. Here it is:

Polk Penguin House in Detroit

African Fish Eagle in its natural habitat
Did you know that zoos provide more than just entertainment? Zoos provide scientists with research so they can learn more about species they don’t know as much about. Some people think that zoos treat animals horribly and don’t care about the animals. I believe that zoos should be kept and preserved as animal sanctuaries because they provide care for the animals. I know this because the animals are happy in zoos, endangered animals are protected, and the animals are prevented from boredom.

One reason zoos should be protected is that animals are happy in zoos. Don Moore from the Smithsonian National Zoological Park in Washington, D.C. says that, “Professional zookeepers know their animals as well as people at home know their dogs.” This means that people at zoos know how their animals feel the same way that pet owners know their pets. Zoos try to replicate the animal’s natural habitats and then some. At the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, Illinois, chimpanzees can play around and eat the termites in their habitats. According to Steve Feldman, senior vice president of the AZA, the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, “The animals are well nourished, treated by veterinarians, and protected from predators and parasites. As a result, animals live longer in zoos than in the wild.” This shows animals are protected from all dangers. Clearly, animals are happy in zoos.

Another reason zoos should be kept and preserved is that zoos prevent boredom in animals. Some cheetahs at zoos love to play around with perfume. People who work in the Detroit zoo in Michigan put sticks from the zebra habitat and zebra poop in a box and then put that box in the lion habitat. Boredom is bad and/or dangerous. According to Marc Bekoff, a biologist at the University of Colorado, Boulder, “They can exhibit [repetitive] pacing, self-mutilation, hyperaggressiveness, and loss of appetite.” Obviously, zoos care for their animals and will do anything to make sure that nothing happens to these animals.

Additionally, zoos protect the extinction of endangered animals. Many zoos have breeding programs. Some species saved were the Arabian Oryx, the Przwalski’s Horse, and the Black-Footed Ferret. This shows that zoos have reintroduced endangered species into the wild. At the St. Louis zoo, researchers are trying to reintroduce an endangered salamander into the wild. According to Steve Feldman of the AZA, “If zoos didn’t exist, they’d have to be invented.” Since there are so little tigers in the wild, zoos take care of their tigers. So, zoos will do anything in their power to get animals back into the wild.

Some people think that zoos treat animals horribly. On Christmas Day 2007, a Siberian Tiger named Tatiana attacked three men and killed 1 after jumping over the wall of her enclosure, which was not up to the standard. Later, police shot and killed the tiger. However, those 3 men were taunting Tatiana and were drunk and using drugs. Tigers can’t cope with the smell of alcohol and will be violent towards people who are drinking. So really, these animals only attack when they’re provoked.

As I said before, zoos should be protected and kept because they care for their animals, predator or prey. I know this since animals are happy in zoos, they protect endangered animals, and they prevent boredom in animals. I know you understand that zoos were inhumane to their animals in the past. But I encourage you to stand up for your local zoo.

Mornings

Sigh! I just wish that I could have woke up earlier so I didn't have do this right before we left for school! Tuesday mornings are really hard for me since I have opera every Monday night and we usually go from 5:30-8:30. We're almost in tech week (not again!{duhn-duhn-duhn}) so we're really rushing to get everything prepped for the show.

Tech Week is Over!!

I can't believe that tech week for Macbeth is finally over! I didn't see it, but I know that we had a great performance on opening night. The final dress rehearsal (that one I was in) was great in my opinion, but I believe that the performance on April 16th was better. Now here comes the fun part. I'm not IN the show until April 24th, so all I need to do is wait for my performance.

Free Day

Finally!! A day with NO Macbeth rehearsals in this entire week! Its not that I don't like them, its just they're LONG! I have one of the shortest parts in the entire opera. I'm putting a video just to show you how long I have to wait to be on/how long I wait until the curtain call (It's the whole opera. I'm on in Act III which is about 1:14:20-1:32:30). My role is double-casted, which means that I'm onstage sometimes and my friend Matteo Popadopolous. Matteo's preforming opening night (this Saturday), the Wednesday preformance (next Wednesday) and the 2nd Saturday preformance (next Saturday). I'm preforming in the open dress rehearsal this Friday morning (that's why I'm missing school) and closing night on Sunday, April 24.

I Have Drowsiness Today! (Imagine Title in Singsong)

If you read the title, you'll wonder why I'm drowsy on a Wednesday morning. It all started April 10, 2016 when tech week began for Macbeth by Guiseppe Verdi. That day was the Sitzprobe, the first rehearsal with both the cast and orchestra. (If you don't remember this stuff, please read A Night of Opera, my post yesterday) Today we did a complete run-through with costumes (dress rehearsal). We stayed up 'til around11:30 because of this rehearsal.

A Night of Opera

Yesterday was the second rehearsal on the stage for the MOT's production of "Macbeth" by Giuseppe Verdi. Shakespeare wrote the original play but Verdi turned into an opera. Before the Sitzprobe (a run through on the stage but when you're done, you sit down and watch until your next part), I had only seen a big piece of Act III, which is where Macbeth revisits the witches and 3 apparitions (one of which I will be splitting [this right role is double casted] between me and my friend Matteo. In other news, that very same night was the understudy run-through for "The Mikado" by Gilbert and Sullivan. I was kind of excited because I AM an understudy for Ko-Ko, the Lord High Executioner. I can't really say much about it except I think we (the understudies) all did very well. That run-through was the first time for some people. Overall, my night of opera was busy, but AWESOME!!

Committee Day!

Today was a very special day. Today was the day of the committee for the Birbery competition. We got to ride in a limo. We picked up the people from Derby (Berkshire was already there) and we were off to the Baldwin Public Library. Once we got there, we played a nice game of Headbands. The people on our headbands were characters from these 6 books: Circus Mirandus, The War That Saved my Life, Echo, Roller Girl, Mark of the Thief, and Fuzzy Mud. Out of the 10 Birbery books and 15 committee members, no one got a character in the game of headbands form Masterminds, Stella by Starlight, Fish in a Tree, and The Boys Who Challenged Hitler. After headbands, we met former Newbery committee member, Karen Lemmons, who walked us through the process of the Newbery selection and that how at the end of this year, a picture book won the Newbery medal. After lunch, we got right into discussing the books. After the first 5 which were (in the order we discussed them) The War That Saved my Life, Circus Mirandus, Stella by Starlight, The Boys Who Challenged Hitler, and Fish in a Tree, we took a break. After the break we discussed the remaining books in this order; Roller Girl, Masterminds, Mark of the Thief, Echo, and Fuzzy Mud. In the end, we did a ballot. Because the top 5 (Fish in a Tree, Masterminds, Mark of the Thief, Circus Mirandus, and The War That Saved my Life) (If you want spoilers on who wins, look at the pictures or below) were so close, we had to retake the ballot. Twice. Overall, here were the final standings:

1st Place: Masterminds by Gordon Korman
2nd Place: The War That Saved my Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley
3rd Place: Fish in a Tree by Linda Mually Hunt
Tied for 4th/5th Place:Circus Mirandus by Cassie Beasley/Mark of the Thief by Jennifer A. Nielson.

Back on the limo, they gave us Sparkling Juice. I had Sparkling White Grape Juice. The 5 BCS committee members got back to school at around 3:00.

Digimon Review

Last year, my friend Jaylen introduced me to the TV show called Digimon. It's about monsters like Pokémon in a separate dimension. There are different branches of the series. The best series in my opinion is Digimon Fusion, where the Digimon fuse together with the help of humans. I recommend this series to anyone who likes fantasy books.

70's and 80's Music

A while ago, my dad introduced me to the music period of the 70's and the 80's. Some of the greatest artists of this period are Michael Jackson (70's and 80's), Queen (70's), Survivor (80's) (they wrote Eye of the Tiger), and Aerosmith (70's). Their music had a powerful impact on the world. Queen's songs We will Rock You" and "We are the Champions" became songs that my generation still sings (sometimes). These singers/songwriters (Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury wrote their songs before he passed away) have a powerful impact on me too. Asrosmith's "Dream On" inspired me to keep dreaming until my dreams come true.

Star Wars

What do you think it would be like if Star Wars was real? Then, people would fly off  onto other inhabited planets, battle your opponents, and maybe even blow up 2 space stations that are evil. Which gives me a question. If you could be any Star Wars character, who would it be? I would pick Darth Vader because he's amazingly powerful. He can choke his enemies without laying a finger on them.

Crazy Test

Today I took a math test. Sounds boring, right? But pretty much nobody could finish the thing. It was on statistics. It had things like the Mean Absolute Deviation, or MAD, the Inter-Quartile Range or IQR. Unit 9 is difficult and very tiring. Luckily, Mr. Burdick said that from Unit 8 to unit 15 (unit 5 of 7th grade) we could use calculators. Since there's a half day tomorrow, I only have LA and Math. Yippee! I can finish my test!

The Adventures of Frosty: Book 4: Terror in Frosting Prolouge

At the entrance to the cupcake castle, the 6 friends were questioning Pop of his fear of ALMOST everything.

"Here it is. Pop, are you sure you don't want to go back to the yacht?" Doughy declared. It turned out that he and Shocker were very kind. Pop stated, "Despite my phobia of everything else, I don't have a fear of bats, werewolves, vampires, and ghosts. In we go!"

The Adventures of Frosty: Crazy Èclairs! FULL BOOK

Prologue

Last time you saw Frosty and his crew get frozen by the Freezer Frog and had their new friend Snowy turn on them. Now, the stakes are raised even higher. With Mystery Meat trying to prevent this merry crew from completing this prophecy: "A man made of ice cream will thwart the dangerous meat evil with 5 friends in tow:  A Red Velvet Vampire, A Patti Shoe Dragon, A Snow Cone Saber-tooth, A Popsicle Monkey, and a Cakeasaurus Rex." Mystery Meat XIV, the descendant of the first Mystery Meat, is working to prevent this. Currently, there is only one Patti Shoe dragon remaining. If he kills it, the prophecy won't be completed so far because the other 13 Mystery Meats expired of old age. But prophecies have this thing of coming true one way or another. Even if it's not in one generation, it will be completed in another. Read more to find out if this prophecy comes true in this generation.

Chapter 1: Arrival

"This boat is getting WAY too crowded." Pop the Popsicle Monkey stated. He was only the second person to ride it other than the big sleeper, Frosty the Ice Cream Man. Frosty and his friends Pop, Cakeman the Cakeasaurus Rex, and the newest addition to the merry band of friends, Snowy the Snow Cone Sabertooth are going to the Eclair Savanna to find a Patti Shoe Dragon (Patti Shoe is the dough that makes eclairs and cream puffs). "Right. I can fix that at the harbor. There is an area where they rebuild your speedboats into a Faygo Yacht." Frosty said. "Then, Land Ho!" Snowy exclaimed. "Look! The harbor!" Cakeman said. Frosty deposited the ship by the harbormaster. "Look! A cream puff rhino!" Snowy was taking in all the sights because he lived in a Tundra. Then right as he said this, the rhino looked at the eclair tiger and the tiger pounced and the rhino charged.

Chapter 2: Arrival (Again)

Frosty and the gang stepped back and watched nature in dessertia. Naturally, the rhino charged into the tiger and killed it because cream puffs are small but strong. "We should get going before we're next." Pop told Frosty.
"(snore)"
"Frosty!"
"Just drag him. They're unwakeable." Snowy said.
"They're also the heaviest of all of us." Pop declared. It took all of them, but they managed to drag him into the beignet prairie, which is a part of the savanna but is where everybody knows the dragons live. When they walked in, lightning struck them. At that excact moment, Frosty woke up.

Chapter 3: The 2nd Egg

"I guess this is it." Frosty said while taking a bow. He took his hat off. In doing this, the hat absorbed the lightning blast. As he was putting the hat back on, he saw the lightning in the hat and immediatly flipped his hat in the opposite direction. In doing so, lightning struck a nearby Beignet Prarie Dog instead. Enraged, the dragon struck Pop, who screamed in terror and ducked, thus narrowly avoiding the lightning blast. This is how it went, dragons attacking the strangers, the quartet narrowly dodging each and every lightning bolt. Once the heroes had ran across the entire prarie, they saw something intriguing. It had a single star on its oval-shaped surface. It was a Patti Shoe Dragon egg! "Frosty, come on. Grab it!" Pop exclaimed.
"I think we'll let Snowy take this one." Frosty declared. As soon as Snowy grabbed the egg, a Donut Cyclops saw the egg, which it wanted to eat for dinner. The strangers with it could be an amazing appetizer, it thought. So, the cyclops roared in their faces while raising his club up in the air to strike.

Chapter 4: The Dangerous Doughnut

The cyclops slammed his sprinkle club into the ground. Everyone jumped out of the way. The club made a fissure in the ground. Shoot, the cyclops thought; I should have hit them with Jelly first. Frosty told his friends with fear in his voice, "Guys, let's try and reason with him." Frosty jumped over the jelly and ran up Doughy the Doughnut's gargantuan leg. Once he got to his eye, Frosty said, "Why are you attacking us? I think it might be because you want to eat us, or attacking is your way of being friendly. I'm going to go with the latter." Little did Frosty know, Doughy was very moved by this speech and stopped attacking. Frosty said, "Will you come with us?"
"Yeah!" Doughy replied.
"Then can you put my friends and I back?"
"Sure."
"Also, let's get that egg!"
"Oh. I noticed that the egg dropped into the fissure."
"Then into the fissure!"

Chapter 5: The Fissure

Deeper and deeper into the chasm the five people went. It seemed like one of those bottomless pits you see in movies. Suddenly, Doughy saw the egg. He exclaimed, "Look! The egg! Somebody get over to it!" Frosty "Swam" over to the egg and sat on it. Out popped a full-grown pattishoe dragon! Frosty told the dragon, "Hi. My name's Frosty. Can I call you Shocker?" The dragon nodded yes. "Can you fly all of us out of here?" Shocker nodded his head again, lifted his wings, waited for Frosty and the others to get to him, then flew out of the bottomless pit at terminal velocity. Shocker flew them all the the Faygo yacht before noon (it was 11:59 when they got out of the pit) and the 6 friends took off for the Cupcake Castle.

Epilogue

We go back to the evil mystery meat's lair in Grocerie where Mystery Meat Evilsteak XIV (Mystery is his first name, Meat is his middle, and Evilsteak is obviously a last name) was waiting for the postman to bring a letter from the local fortune teller, Butcher Fateseer. The postman, Skinless McChicken, told Evilsteak, "Mystery, Butcher told me this is very important and that he wanted to tell you in person but....." at that very moment Butcher appeared with his crystal ball. He picked up where the postman left off, "What Skinless is trying to say is that my magic is very rusty You do realize I was the adviser to your Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Great-Grandfather, or Mystery Meat Evilsteak I. I never quite pieced together the full prophecy. I just found out that there will be a traitor to the meat society that originally betrayed Dessertia. In doing this, the "Heroes" will have some muscle. Also, I believe Doughy the Doughnut Cyclops has left the Meat Society."
"He is the muscle. But we have nothing to fear. That Popsicle Monkey is way too terrified to go into the Cupcake Castle. That's our chance to grab him."

The Adventures of Frosty Book 3: Crazy Èclairs!

Luck of the Irish

Today was an extremely lucky day for me. First, at our school's local competition for the 10 birbery  books, I, another sixth grader, two seventh graders and an 8th grader were chosen the top 5 competitors. In the 5th/6th grade classes, there is a little reading competition inspired by March Madness and the fact that March is Reading Month. I just happened to randomly draw the best basketball team in the NCAA, Kansas University.

The Adventures of Frosty Book 3: Crazy Eclairs!

The Adventures of Frosty: Crazy Eclairs! Chapter 3: The (2nd) Egg

The Tender Land

Today I saw Aaron Copland's  "The Tender Land" with my friends Matteo and Molly. It was a production from the Michigan Opera Theater, just not at the MOT. It was at some place I can't  remember the name of. It takes place on a farm. Laurie, the lead, is the first person to graduate high school in her family. The day before her graduation ceremony, 2 strangers appear. They're names are Top (what kind of a name is that?) and Martin. Laurie's grandpa hires the two men but remains suspicious because two girls have been attacked recently and grandpa moss doesn't want Laurie to be then third. Later that night, at Laurie's graduation party, Laurie falls in love with Martin but Ma Moss (Grandpa and Ma Moss are extremely overprotective) suspects that Top (again, top is NOT a name) and Martin are the culprits that attacked the two girls. Laurie and Martin go outside and there is a really romantic moment between the two of them. This goes on until Grandpa interrupts the moment and tells Martin and Top to go away by daybreak. Laurie sees Martin pack up and says that she's going with them. But Top convinces Martin to leave before daybreak. Laurie goes out of the house at daybreak and is devastated to find out that Martin and Top left without her. So she leaves the house and the young girl, Beth is seen playing with Daniel, her doll as seen in the beginning.

Random Stuff (2)

Today was theday of my little sister's talent show. At first I thought it would be boring, but it was okay. There was one act where one girl was looking at the other so she did the movements a tad late. There was two acts where they had one person laying down, and another person sat on top of them so they could "do" cool tricks. Overall, some of the acts (some means most) were so weird they were funny.

Cowboy Story

Sometime ago at Sunday School, there was a presentation about an architect named Albert Kahn. We were supposed to write a historical fiction story. Now if you're wondering "When do the cowboys come in?", I have the perfect answer. We could customize the location, people and buildings so I customized the location to "The Wild West".  Here is my story featuring "The Wild West","Henry Bacon","Eleanor Clay","Belle Isle Aquarium" and "Adaptive Reuse" (this is not word for word):

After Sheriff Henry Bacon finished his architectural travels in Europe, he got on a boat to the U.S. so he could get on a train to go home to the Wild, Wild West. On said train, he met Eleanor Clay. He was in love! But Eleanor was engaged to Edsel Ford, son of Henry Ford (her engagement was true), and she loved him with all her heart. Henry asked her out and she said what was stated in the last sentence. The hero of this particular short story was heartbroken. He suddenly stopped talking and sadly went to his seat. The heartbroken hero returned to his hometown and returned to his passion of architecture. One day as he was working on his grayprint (

Clash Royale Review

There's this really cool game I've been playing called Clash Royale. It's a game by Supercell where you use mostly troops from Clash of Clans (another game by Supercell) and some others like the Musketeer or Prince. You use these different cards (they're sorted out into 3 different categories: Troop, Spell, and Building) to attack your opponent's towers. The player who destroyed the most towers in 2 minutes wins the game. One tower, the king tower is special. When you destroy it, you win automatically.

The Adventures of Frosty Book 3: Crazy Eclairs! Chapter 2

The Adventures of Frosty Book 3: Crazy Eclairs! Chapter 1

Eclairs, a cream filled pastry

The Adventures of Frosty Book 3: Crazy Eclairs! Prolouge

Birbery Book #9 DONE!!!

Today is a good day. Last night I finished the book "Circus Mirandus" by Cassie Beasley. It was an amazing book about a boy named Micah, his dying grandfather, and a magical circus. Micah is technically an orphan because both of his parents died. His grandpa would be his guardian until he died. Then Micah would fall into the hands of his pessimistic Great-Aunt Gertrudis.

Random Stuff

The martian by Andy Weir

On Saturday, we (my dad, my sister and I [my mom's on a business trip in Pittsburgh]) watched "The Martian". I liked the movie and my dad just happened to have the book. I started it and it's O.K. though I will say I'm NOT bringing it to the readathon today. Another thing is that "The Voice" season 10 is starting today. I'm sad that I'm going to miss it because of my opera rehearsal.

Birbery Book Clubs

Today and yesterday I went to the Birbery Book Clubs (which you need to attend at least 2 to participate in the quiz bowl [that and read all 10 books]) 6 different books have been mentioned in the first two book clubs. They are:

  • The War That Saved my Life
  • Echo
  • Stella by Starlight
  • The Boys Who Challenged Hitler: Knud Pederson and the Churchill Club
  • Circus Mirandus
  • Mark of the Thief
In those six, the 3 that I haven't read are in these catagories:

  • Magical Tales (Circus Mirandus, Echo, Mark of the Thief)
  • Historical Fiction (Boys Who Challenged Hitler, Stella by Starlight, Echo, The War That Saved my Life)

I like listing things. Anyways, here are a couple of pictures.

The War That Saved my LIfe Book Review

I'm almost finished with a book called "The War That Saved my Life" by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley. It's about a girl named Ada who has something called a clubfoot, which is where someone who has one's foot is twisted. This book is about Ada's life during WWII. Her mother, Mam, is ashamed by her foot and locked her up in her room for most of her life, but she runs away with her little brother Jamie to the country (They live in London) and meet Susan Smith, the woman who is forced to take the 2 in because nobody wanted to take them in. They quickly bond with Susan and Ada learns so many different things along the way.

Hamilton Jr.

If  you saw all of the Grammys on TV or live, you know about the musical Hamilton. It's about Alexander Hamilton, the forgotten founding father. As you may not know, it has tons and tons of swearing. I thought that maybe I could edit the play so it was a Middle School/High School/College appropriate version (with the director Lin-Manuel Miranda's permission). After a few weeks, my dad shut my dream down AGAIN. The first time was when I wanted to be a football player when I grew up. At the time, I was very little, so he can't judge. I hope I can get his permission because I believe that Hamilton is the best musical in the world and can be even better. I also hope I can be in a Broadway production of Hamilton when I grow up.

Friday Fright-Day

On Thursday Night my Dad was trying to open a can of tuna for his dinner. He couldn't get the can all the way open so he tried using his hands. Bad move, dad. Then my sister distracted him so he was looking away and he returned to the tuna. He accidentally cut his finger on the sharp edge of the tuna. Of course I wasn't in the room where it happened (Hamilton: the Musical pun),  but my dad was there. He was the victim so he told me what happened when he got back from the Urgent Care. The Tuna Can cut deep into his ring finger WITH his wedding ring on it My dad told me that they would have cut his ring off or he could take it off before the stitches.

Band

Yesterday in band class we got one of my all time favorite band pieces: (pause for effect) The Pink Panther! It's the theme to the show The Pink Panther (so hard to guess, right?). Some other good things happened today. I finished Masterminds by Gordon Korman and aced the test on moodle. I finished all the valentines I need to bring for the Valentine's Day party. It's going to be really fun!

Shark Tank Invention

In engage, we're making an original invention that fulfills a need or solves a problem. My group is making a safe punching bag. This solves a problem because people can use a punching bag at home without boxing gloves without fear of getting hurt in the process. We're using Play-doh inside our bags instead. We'll use vinyl instead of leather for the bag so it won't hurt at all. The bag will include 2 zippers. One at the top and one at the bottom. When the Play-Doh dries, the bottom zipper dumps out the old Play-Doh and the top zipper puts in the new Play-Doh. You'll have to zip the bottom one up before you put the new Play-Doh in.

Fabulous Fooseball

Yesterday at a shabbat meeting at my friends the Parker's house, I played a game of Fooseball (ish) with and against a friend. It was like Hockey Fooseball, except the rods controlled one player at a time and they could move back and forth. My team was losing 3 of some of my other friends. But, we pulled a huge comeback.  I would pass and my teammate would shoot it into the other team's goal. At one time, no one could score a goal.

Hamilton History

A few days ago, I got hooked on the new musical Hamilton. It’s about the life of Alexander Hamilton. There’s a lot of swearing, but the music is really good. The music is almost entirely rapping. Here is a link to one of the funniest songs without swearing, Farmer Refuted. It’s where a man named Samuel Seabury talks about how the war is a bad idea and Hamilton and his friends are disagreeing. Then there’s another one, You'll be Back. In it, King George III is saying that he’ll win the revolution in a hilarious way. Some of the lyrics are: “I will kill your friends and family to remind you of my love.”

1st Band Concert

Last night I performed in my 1st ever band concert. I was in orchestra last year so I never got to be in a band concert. I played violin for two years. In those 2 years, I did the exact same thing. I switched schools after one year of orchestra at Brookside, the elementary school of Cranbrook. My teacher in 4th grade was Mrs. Lorts. Ms. Gillespie was my orchestra teacher last year and we did exactly what I did in fourth grade! I figured that it was time for a change. Mr. Krum is AWESOME!! The band concert last night was amazing! After we played, the 7th and 8th graders did their pieces and then the 7/8 played Clocks by Coldplay. It was the best concert I've ever been in!

Pottermore

I sometimes go on a website called POTTERMORE (OOO, exciting). It’s where you find things in scenes from the HARRY POTTER books like the Deathly Hallows. I went on pottermore today and saw that the whole thing had been changed!! I tried to log in but my password wasn’t right. I tried sending a forgotten password email to myself but the email never came. It’s a mystery to me. Then again, sometimes it just doesn’t work. In Pottermore, you get sorted into a house at Hogwarts (I’m a Slytherin), take a potions class, and even duel in the dueling club. I’ve made it to the Half-Blood Prince in the look and find.

The Adventures of Frosty Book 2: Tumble in the Tundra FULL BOOK

Prologue
Frosty the Ice Cream Man, Pop the Popsicle, and Cakeman the Cakeaceratops were on the Root Beer Float Speedboat heading to the SNOW CONE TUNDRA for their next ADVENTURE FOR THE PERFECT PET. They were hoping to find a Snow Cone Saber-tooth. They're really territorial and really dangerous for people that get in their way.  In the Tundra there is a Freezer Frog. It's the boss of every single Snow Cone Saber-tooth combined. Will the Terrific Trio get out of this alive or will they be Frozen Forever? Read further to find out.

Chapter 1: Landing
Are we there yet, Dad?" Cakeman asked Frosty (he calls him dad because of the events of the first book). They were on the Root Beer Float Speedboat on their way to the Snow Cone Tundra to find a snow cone saber-tooth for a pet. You guessed it, Pop was all but for the idea. He had never wanted to go to Hot Fudge Island either. Cakeman had asked Frosty this question an Octillion times already (that's about 8 times bigger than a million). Frosty replied with his Octillionth and 1st answer, "Please, Cakeman, just call me Frosty. We're not there yeeettttt---!We're there! I can't believe it! Pop, what do you think?"
"I think we're going to die" said Pop.
"Geez, Pop, you don't have to be so pessimistic. I'm a glass half full person, so I think we'll make it!" Frosty replied. They landed the speedboat on the shores of the tundra (Crazy right?) and started their trek.
It took hours and hours and hours but they finally made it to what they thought was an unguarded Snow Cone Saber-tooth den. So, they went inside to find the egg. But Cakeman saw something white out of the corner of his eye. "Frosty? I think I saw an Ice Cream Cake Polar Bear." Cakeman told Frosty. Next second they knew, an Ice Cream Cake Polar Bear (probably the mother) was pouncing on them. She missed (luckily) and gave the Trio enough time to run out of the cave. "FROSTY!!" both Cakeman and Pop shouted. He ran so fast, he tripped on his own foot. The Ice Cream Cake Polar Bear was rearing up for another shot at Frosty.

Chapter 2: Miracles Happen
Frosty recovered just in time. The ice cream cake polar bear was inches away. Frosty ran as fast as he possibly can. Then he was suddenly dragged under the snow. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! Help! Pop! Cakeman!"
"Frosty, we're out of the cave". Pop said
"Where are we?"
"Huh?"
"I said, WHERE IN THE FUDGECANO ARE WE?"
"Oh. We're in our new camp. If we're ever in trouble, we just come here. But geez, no need to swear." They were in a tent with a picture of an Ice Cream Cone on it. Outside there was a lit campfire with chocolate rods as the timber (everything is desserts in Dessertia)
"Sorry. I was just irritated that you couldn't hear me."
"Apology accepted. There was actually snow in my ears."
"By the way, thanks for saving me from the cake polar bear (short for ice cream cake polar bear). It almost got me."
"No problem. We should take a rest. Who knows what will happen tomorrow".

Chapter 3: Saber-Tooth Search
The next day, the Terrific Trio sent out from the camp to find this Snow Cone Saber-tooth. They walk in the snow for hours and hours until Cakeman said, "I think I saw paw tracks at the camp."
"Oh darn it. Cakeman, you're saying that we made camp in a Snow Cone Saber-tooth's lair?"
"Yep."
"Oh come on!!!!!!" Frosty exclaimed. "Good thing this tundra's round. We've already gone 3/4 of the way around." So, they walked for an hour. When they got back, there were claw marks EVERYWHERE. They walked into the camp and immediately got pounced on.

Chapter 4: Friends Come With Thorns
"Ah! Don't kill us!" Pop screamed at the top of his lungs. Cakeman and Pop started running as fast as they could. But Frosty just stayed there. "Frosty, you're gonna die!" said Pop
"No! I'm fine! He just pounced on me because there was a thorn in his paw!" Frosty explained. Frosty tried and tried but just couldn't get the thorn out. Pop joined in and STILL they couldn't get it out. Then Cakeman joined in (Cakeasaurs have legendary strength) and FINALLY they got the thorn out of his paw. "Can you talk? What happened to you?" Frosty asked.
"I can talk. It was Mystery Meat."
"MYSTERY MEAT?!?!?!?!?!?!" Frosty and Pop said at the same time.
"Who's Mystery Meat, Frosty?" Cakeman asked.
"Remember that bedtime story I once told you, "The Legend of Mystery Meat?"
"Yeah."
"Well, this is the Bad Guy from that legend."
"But I thought it was just a legend" Cakeman said,
"So did everyone else here, buddy. It was also said in a legend that nobody went near a Snow Cone Saber-tooth because they breathe fire. Look at Snowy over here. HEY! Can we call you Snowy?"
"Sure. And if you want me to come with you, I will." Snowy said.
"Hey, guys. Sun's getting pretty low. We should get to sleep." Pop told the rest of the Quartet. What Pop DIDN'T mention that he saw a shape like a Frog and a piece of Steak as he calmly went to bed. ALMOST.

Chapter 5: Frogger
Right when the four were about to go to sleep, there was a huge RIBBIT. Everything froze for a second (literally). Then, Snowy had breathed fire and freed himself. He freed everyone else. Then, without a moment's notice, he started attacking the other people. "Ahhh! Frosty! Help!" Cakeman and Pop screamed. But Frosty was deeply asleep. Ice Cream Men are known for their unwakableness. Cakeman and Pop tried to shake him awake, but it was no good. Finally, after about an hour, Frosty woke up and wished he had brought his magic broom. BUT, he had his magic hat (Ice Cream Men are also snowmen). He threw the hat over Snowy and he became calm.
"Now we still have 1 problem," Frosty said,
"The Freezer Frog."
"Oh yeah," Pop said
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Cakeman and Pop said at the same time. It ribbited again.

Chapter 6: Meat Party Time
As the Freezer Frog let out a huge RIBBIT, a sudden wave fell over Snowy. He felt like he was being controlled by 2 things at one time. He was. Both the Freezer Frog and Mystery Meat were trying to control Snowy since he was the biggest of the group. But don't ever judge a book by it's cover. Snowy was actually the 2nd most nervous at this moment since Pop never stops being scared. All of a sudden, a hat came flying out of nowhere and it hit the Freezer Frog's head. He was now being controlled by Frosty the Ice Cream Man. In one gulp, the frog had swallowed Mystery Meat and all was well for the quartet. As they got on their Root Beer Float Speedboat, Frosty sensed a living presence in the Freezer Frog's stomach. But it didn't bother him as he went to the Eclair Savanna to find a Patti shoe Dragon.

Epilogue
Frosty should've been concerned about the presence in the Freezer Frog's stomach, for Mystery Meat was still alive and well. He transported himself to his base. Mystery Meat said, "He has almost everything the ancient prophecy tells of. I must go to the Eclair Savanna and make sure he doesn't get a Patti Shoe Dragon."
